The last mile: getting medicine to distant towns and villages

The hardest part of a medicine’s journey is often the shortest. How we plan for it.

Moving a large shipment between two warehouses is fairly straightforward. Splitting it across dozens of village pharmacies and health units, each with a small order and a different time slot, is the real challenge.

How we plan the last mile

  • Grouping orders by area to cut the number of trips and the time each shipment spends on the road.
  • Using nearby regional branches as intermediate distribution points.
  • Small cool boxes for sensitive products on short runs.
  • Digital proof of delivery, with a temperature record for every drop.

Every new regional branch shortens the distance between stock and patient. That is the measure we care about most.
